So it seems that the well known women’s magazine Cosmopolitan has launched a magazine for men. Only available on the iPad, CFG: Cosmo for Guys is shooting for the same type of guys that buy Maxim and Men’s Health I would imagine, which both seem to have a less then stellar following in terms of iOS apps. Here is the description of the app from the horse’s mouth.
Chances are, you sometimes take a peek at Cosmo in an attempt to figure out what women really want. So have millions of other men. That’s why we’ve finally created Cosmo For Guys (CFG), a fun, entertaining, and seriously useful monthly app for iPad. Designed specifically for men, CFG is packed with interactive features that reveal what a woman craves sexually and emotionally—and it doesn’t matter whether you have been with her for years, have just met, or are staring at each other from across the bar. In each new issue, you’ll find straight-up advice and specific, detailed tips and techniques that will help you satisfy her in bed and out. And it all comes from the editors of Cosmopolitan magazine, the world’s most trusted authority on women.
Highlights from the premier issue:
—Sexy (and hilarious) audio samples of women’s top five bedroom noises plus the hidden meaning behind them
—A breakthrough gift guide that zeros in on the perfect present for every occasion
—Eye-popping 3-D sex positions, viewable from every angle, with advanced tips to help you master your skills
Download the free app to find out more and get a sneak preview.
This app is intended for readers above the age of 21.
The prices are listed as $1.99 for 1 month, 19.99 for 1 year, or $3.99 an issue. Speaking of, the app itself works well. It flows smoothly, is very engaging and interactive with charts and images you can interact with, along with audio and video clips. You’re able to go back to your library, view the contents of the issue you’re reading and even leave bookmarks. I’ve never really been big on the interactive magazines on the iPad so I don’t know if they all have this feature, but I enjoy having the option to “archive” old issues, which removes them from the iPad saving space, but makes them available to download if you want to revisit something later.
Only time will tell if the app itself succeeds, but no doubt the people behind CFG have high hopes and are pushing forward with expansion of the new franchise by not only coming out with a CFG radio show on SiriusXM, but will soon be publishing under the CFG label. I’ll be interested to see how things go. If you’re interested in checking out CFG, you can head on over the the App Store [Link] and download the app for free, it comes with a free demo of their first issue.
