It’s been a while since there has been some “Peekaboo” news here at Geekasms, and thanks to Night & Day Studios releasing their first Peekaboo iOS app in 2 years, we finally get to have some again!!
For a quick back story for those that are unfamiliar, Night & Day Studio’s first Peekaboo app, Peekaboo Barn, is the app that I refer to as “starting it all.” When my daughter, who was 10 months old at the time, was quickly entertained by Peekaboo Barn after I downloaded it in a quick dash to entertain her, I realized I had to get online, talk about it, and spread the word as much as possible. Thus, this site was born from my daughter’s love of Peekaboo Barn, and the subsequent “sequels” Peekaboo Wild and Peekaboo Forrest. While Geekasms itself has evolved over the years to become more movie/comic/entertainment centric, I still like to highlight apps here and there, either on the site itself or mention it in the podcast. (There has been some discussion of creating a sister site to host purely the app related posts, but that’s down the road some)
So, its with pleasure that I get to post about Night & Day’s upcoming new release, hitting the App Store August 30th, Peekaboo Fridge!
I am highly, HIGHLY excited about this release coming from Night & Day Studios. Not only do they produce top quality and educational apps appropriate for infants, toddlers, and up (Check out Big Nate if you haven’t already!) their Peekaboo apps, always come out at an age appropriate time for my daughter. While that is simply a coincidence, I can’t help but love it, and now at age 3, I know without a doubt she’s going to love Peekaboo Fridge.
So as a tease to get people excited about the new release, Night & Day Studios has been releasing little teasers on their Facebook page the past few days.
Here you have the main screen of the app, where kids will be able to tap on the refrigerator, to have the door swing open to reveal a new character from within the fridge.
Next, you have a glimpse into the animation of the fridge door opening. This also gives you a glimpse into how they develop their apps, which starts with paper and pencil.
The have also posted a glimpse of their first animation test of what they say became the mascots for Peekaboo Fridge; The Eggs Twins and Miss Strawberry
Can’t wait for this app to hit!! Make sure you come back here August 30th for all the Peekaboo Fridge goodness.
