Netflix recently released a collection of character posters for its highly-anticipated live-action adaptation of the hit manga series One Piece. The posters feature Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy), Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero Gibson), and Sanji (Taz Skylar).
One Piece chronicles the exploits of Monkey D. Luffy and his crew of pirates as they traverse a wondrous realm of boundless oceans and exotic isles, all in pursuit of the fabled “One Piece” treasure that will bestow upon its possessor the title of the Pirate King.
Heading the creative team, Steven Maeda serves as a co-writer, showrunner, and executive producer of the show, joined by Matt Owens, who also shares roles as co-writer and executive producer. The cast features talents like Morgan Davies (The Evil Dead) portraying Koby, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino (The Sex Lives of College Girls) as Alvida, Aidan Scott (Action Point) embodying Helmeppo, Jeff Ward (Hacks) taking on the role of Buggy, McKinley Belcher III (Ozark) portraying Arlong, and Vincent Regan (Troy) as Garp.
Produced by Tomorrow Studios in collaboration with One Piece publisher Shueisha, this series comprises 10 episodes and is set to debut on August 31st! Are anticipation levels rising?
